OMIP, FMIP & FHIAP
Oregon Medical Insurance Risk Pool is for anyone who has been turned down for health insurance or has certain serious medical conditions. It is a guarantee issue plan with excellent benefits. The plans offer different co-insurance, deductible, and maximum out-of-pocket amounts.
FMIP is our new Federal High Risk Insurance Pool allowing people with pre-existing health condition(s) to get insurance. The federal program provides another option for people who have been denied coverage.
FHIAP stands for Federal Health Insurance Assistance Program. It is available for both group and individual insurance. If you are a low income family and have been without health insurance for 6 months you may qualify. The state sets certain guidelines we must abide by and they review your eligibility, sometimes there are waiting periods to apply.
We have included a state link that will direct you to OMIP, FMIP and FHIAP plus many other state agencies. But always make sure you send any application to us for review. If you miss a box or overlook anything it can delay the process by months on both of these plans. Feel free to call Laurie at 971-223-5166 with any questions you may have on any of these plans.
