OMIP & FHIAP
Oregon Medical Insurance Risk Pool is for anyone who has been turned down
for health insurance or has certain serious medical conditions. It is a
guarantee issue plan with excellent benefits. The plans offer different
co-insurance, deductible, and maximum out-of-pocket amounts.
FHIAP stands for Federal Health Insurance Assistance Program. It is
available for both group and individual insurance. If you are a low income
family and have been without health insurance for 6 months you may qualify.
The state sets certain guidelines we must abide by and they review your
eligibility, sometimes there are waiting periods to apply.
We have included a state link that will direct you to OMIP and FHIAP and
many other state agencies. But always make sure you send any application to
us for review. If you miss a box or overlook anything it can delay the
process by months on both of these plans. Feel free to call Laurie at
1-866-511-7975 with any questions you may have on either of these plans.
